Simple Chocolate Caramel Brownies Recipe

I can't hide my love for anything chocolate (see post on chocolate chip banana cake). This recipe for chocolate caramel brownies shows it. Last time I baked one was for my nephew who needed something to bring to school for potluck. It's good for any occasion, but really fun during Christmas and the winter holidays.

Chocolate Caramel Brownies

Ingredients:
  • 1 box of German Chocolate Cake Mix
  • 1/2 cup of melted butter
  • 1 bag of caramel squares
  • 1 can of evaporated milk
  • 1 bag of chocolate chips
Directions:

Preheat over at 350 deg F.

Combine chocolate cake mix, butter, and 1/3 cup of evaporated milk in a bowl. Mix thoroughly. For the chocolate mix, I prefer Duncan Hines. But other off-the-shelf brands would do.

In a 9x13 baking dish, pour HALF of the mix and bake in oven for 8 minutes.

Melt bag of caramel squares in a microwave with 1/3 cup of evaporated milk. Be sure to stir in between for proper blending.

Pour melted caramel mix over baked brownie mix. Top the caramel layer with the chocolate chips. Use the whole bag to distribute chocolate chips evenly. Then cover chocolate chop and caramel layer using the rest of the remaining brownie mix.

Adjust oven temperature to 375 deg F and bake for 12-15 minutes.

Once done baking, remove the dish, cover it and let it cool down overnight. Serve with a smile.
